Another good category, having just finished The Girl, it is freshest in my head, so I would say it was one of the best, strange but good.  I also enjoyed reading Tailors, especially as it was good to read a mystery from the 1001 list.  If I had to pick the worst book, it would be Memoirs, just because it was a bit of a ramble at times.
