Visit to Ipswich

Made it into Ipswich and visited the Caffe Nero IP1 book-crossing zone and even bumped into BookGroupMan , who I hope to see again at next week's meetup. The cafe seems to have finished its refurbishing. Managed to sneak in a lovely chai latte. Then headed to clean out the charity shops. I am looking for books to put in Soffitta1's 2nd U.K. Bookbox (Asia Theme). Went into Cancer Research and picked up a great stack of books, including some on my wishlist. I also went into Oxfam, which has a great selection but at at least twice the price. I don't understand that, surely if they made their books cheaper, then more people would buy them.

Dropped off the following:
Some donations from my Big Brother, these are game books.
Armies of Death (Puffin Adventure Gamebooks)
The Karate Kid, Part II: Novel (Knight Books)
Island of the Lizard King (Puffin Adventure Gamebooks)
Daggers of Darkness (Puffin Adventure Gamebooks)
Sky Lord (Puffin Adventure Gamebooks)
Dead of Night (Puffin Adventure Gamebooks)
Donations from Mum, I remember reading these a long time ago.
The Prodigal Daughter (Coronet Books) (diff. cover)
Kane and Abel (Coronet Books) (diff. cover)
These came in Soffitta1's 1st UK Bookbox , but I have a copy of the first and have read the second, so thought I'd move them on.
Drink with the Devil
Patriot Games

Picked up:
Watchman , have been collecting Rankin's books since I traded for one in a Portuguese hostel.
Zanzibar , have read The Last King of Scotland, which was excellent.
Night Over Water: AND Dangerous Fortune
The Accidental Woman
The Seriously Squishy Science Book (Horrible Science) (Horrible Science) , picked up for my sister.

Raj Quartet and Staying On Spiral

I was sent book 1 and 5 and picked up the rest on e-mail, and have decided to send them on after I have read them. This would be an international spiral, which means the books are sent to the participants in order. People would be able to jump in part the way through if they have already read one of the books.
The Jewel in the Crown
Day of the Scorpion
Towers of Silence
Division of the Spoils
Staying On

If people would like to join, here is the forum link

Bookmooch

Thought I would add a few more books to my inventory, and had a few books at home (after another http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/ order). These books are also registered with bookcrossing, so hope to get some journal entries.
http://www.bookmooch.com/ is a site where people register books and others can "mooch" them from them for points.

Miss Marple: The Complete Short Stories
Adrian Mole and the Weapons of Mass Destruction (Penguin Celebrations)
The Devil's Feather
English Passengers (Penguin Celebrations)
A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian (Penguin Celebrations) mooched already
The Broker (different cover)
The Gnole
Bolt
Dragon
A Risk Worth Taking (diff. cover)

Any bookcrosser mooching from me can get point deals :)

Soffitta 1's First Bookbox

This returned home a few weeks ago after visiting 9 other bookcrossers. I had put a mixture in the box and a mixture certainly returned. Some I had heard of, and some new authors. Will be adding some to my suitcase when I next head away. I sent it out in July last year, so it took about 6 months to get home.

Drink with the Devil
Ice Bound: One Woman's Incredible Battle for Survival at the South Pole

Secret Smile
A Perfect Evil

NSSVS

Was sent a lovely box of goodies by my partner Rivercassini - smellies, choccies and of course books.
High Fidelity
Persuasion
and Howards End (Twentieth Century Classics)

To my partner, snoopy56, I sent No Country for Old Men (Vintage International) . Enjoy!

This was organised by Beebarf, thanks so much. We had to check out our partner's wishlist and send them one of the books on it. The choccies and wee gifts were a lovely bonus.
